Easy Guide to Temperature Control for Perfect HEMA-free Builder Gel and Gel Polish

Is the current heat making it hard to apply your gels? Temperature control could be your secret weapon. It's all about understanding how warm or cool conditions affect your nail products, especially HEMA-free Builder Gel and gel polish which are naturally less viscous. Here, we'll break down why temperature matters and how to use it to your advantage.

When we talk about nail products, one key thing is how thick or thin they are – in other words, their viscosity. If you've noticed your nail gels being too runny or too stiff, it's probably down to temperature.

Hot conditions can make your gels thinner, making them tricky to control and leaving you with a less even finish and potential flooding. On the other hand, cold conditions can make your gel products thicken up, making smooth application a challenge.

Why does this matter? Well, if you're a nail technician who prides themselves on delivering top-notch services, mastering temperature control can make a world of difference.

Now, the question is, how can you take control? Here are a few simple tips:

  1. Store Your Products Right: Keep your gels in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight.

  2. Control Your Environment: Wherever possible, work away from windows, radiators or any other extreme temperatures. Obviously never work outdoors

  3. Adapt to the Season: If it's winter and your products are too thick, you can gently warm them up. Pop it between your thighs during your prep work. Your body will heat the gel up and make it looser. If it's summer and your gels are too runny, pop them in the fridge for a few mins to cool them down before use.

  4. Keep an Eye on Your Lamp: Remember, your curing lamp gives off a little heat too. Let the nails cool down a bit before applying the next coat to stop the gel from running.

By following these tips, you can ensure your HEMA-free Builder Gel and gel polish always behave just how you want them to. You can promise your clients a smooth, professional finish, no matter what the temperature is outside.
